Alright, so it's snowing

for like the first time in 6 years. It's not sticking, but snow here is rare.

at my apt we've been without electricity/heat since 3a.m. on thursday....the ice storm knocked down tree limbs everywhere and one end of my street is blocked off by an entire tree...I'm here in the office right now stealing paper from the recycle bins to burn in our fireplace. I'm freezing my ass off #$^%%&%*^%(

Goddammit! Apparently it's now snowing really really hard, and I'm 2 hours away at my grandparents house.

The snow was so amazingly fun! It was probably two inches thick. We had a really big snowball fight and I got hit in the face three times and then sat down. Then we made a snow woman and I took a picture of me molesting it. Then I wrote stuff in the snow (one for the board that I'll post later).

It's kind of childish, but we never get snow and this was really fun.

In the past week, every time I've gotten into a taxi I've had to hear about how the dude bought new tires and is ready for the winter season, and mildly dissapointed so far.

I'm hoping it snows soon so the taxi drivers can get back to:
1: the country's fucked stories
2. I have 3-4 mistresses stories
3. when I was your age I was a stud, but now I drive a taxi stories

if it's any consolation, it's supposed to pour rain here all week

we were without electricity and heat for almost four solid days (3.am Thursday to 1 a.m. Sunday)....temps outside were down to 0 and the single digits at night and only into the single digits and teens during the day. We burned everything we could find in the fireplace including some books (although luckily I didn't have to dip into any I really valued). Still, I felt like a visigoth burning the printed pages.

it really was....we would face the fireplace and the front of us would get warm, but the backs of us would be cold!

my street was a complete ice rink; I've become adept at skidding/sliding into turns.

this end of my street was almost completely blocked off by fallen limbs.

it's startling how no power or heat just saps you, physically and emotionally. I usually deal with winter pretty well, but this was a completely different experience. I feel absolutely drained.

Wow, that sucks really hard, lizard. You have no power or heat and it's below freezing, yet you still find the time to post. You are a true credit to the board.
