Kinda underwhelming for the kinda song it is.
Is their music epic, creating visions of Dragons soaring on flying motorcycles? No.
Is their music deep, brooding, creating a hypnotic state while I stare into my snifter of absinthe? No.
Is their music insanely complex, with 19/16 time sigs and key changes from D # to B and back? No.
Is it fun and boppy and energetic, giving me enjoyment around the house as I repair plumbing, or cut the yard? A big solid yes. And I am really looking forward to their performance. All three vocalists have something to offer, and the musical arrangement seems tight.
Yeah...that's why I have been holding off buying this.... they have all the elements I like, diversity in the vocals, great production, catchy hooks but their songs are to formulated, not enough substance in the songwriting, all the songs are structured the same. I am really looking forward to seeing them live and still may pick up the CD....
I enjoy the song, and the album because I find it's what a lot of bands seem to forget: Sometimes, songs should be fun to sing along with and headbang to.
It's really very good. However, I find that it is a bit over-produced, almost to the point of being soul-less. It almost sparkles a bit too much, kind of like a twinky vampire skipping around in the sunlight.
But the lyrics and songwriting are there, and the vocalists (at least the two clean ones, I haven't seen the growler live) are quite talented. So it's still worth listening to, and the band should be very good live. I'm looking forward to their set.

Sounds like you need to check out this Ghost band all the kids are talking about.
