hello holy people

i'm erez yohanan, drummer and founder of amaseffer.

i want to introduce our holy band to you:

Amaseffer is the new "Holy Project" from Andy Kuntz, enigmatic lead singer of German progressive metal band Vanden Plas.

The story of Exodus will be told in the eventual trilogy of albums with the Hebrew name of Amaseffer referring to the name chosen for the Israelites in the Bible. Originating from Israel, the musical side of Amaseffer features Yuval Kramer (g), Hanan Abramovitch (g) and Erez Yohanan (d). The unique progressive sound of the trilogy is a mixture of Middle Eastern spices with an epic, cinematic scope polished with philharmonic orchestrations.

The trilogy of albums recounting the story of Exodus will be recorded in three separate sessions," says drummer and main song-writer Erez Yohanan. "The first as yet untitled album is due in the first half of 2007 and I can confirm that the album will contain ten tracks with a running time of 74 minutes. The album will also be recorded in Germany's Bazement Studios where Vanden Plas' Christ.0 was recorded."

Speaking of Vanden Plas, it seems their seminal keyboardist Gunter Werno (DC Cooper, Kamelot, Section A) has offered himself to record keyboards for the album. "We've had so many great offers from people around the world that are interested in helping us it is very hard to choose between them," offers Erez. "Two in particular include Orphaned Land singer Kobi Farhi who will narrate the albums and the very talented Mattias Noren (Ayreon, Evergrey) who will be doing the artwork for Amaseffer."

Don't be surprised to see Amaseffer taking their Holy Project on a Holy path around the world either.

A new sound sample is available from www.myspace.com/amasefferband
and also Amaseffer have released a trailer for the upcoming trilogy on their official website: www.amaseffer.com.
