Amidst Her Shadows story

Is it some kind of concept album?

"The Melodic Black Metal band Clad in Darkness made an EP album "Amidst Her Shadows" which is based off of Ethan Frome."

Except Amidst Her Shadows isn't entirely based off of Ethan Frome rather only the first two tracks and the other two are older material.

Anyways Ethan Frome deals with the plight of the main character Ethan Frome. It takes place on a stark New England farm during the winter months. Ethan marries Zeena, whom he met when she took care of his ailing mother. When his mother died, Ethan asked Zeena to marry him. Much like Ethan's mom, Zeena too fell ill later in their marriage. They take in a relative as a housemaid of sorts. She looks after the house, cleans, cooks, etc. In Zeena's illness she has become a cold, distant and unlikable person. Ethan continues to grow closer to Mattie during this time and eventually falls in love with her, but with Zeena's condition worsening she is to look for someone more suitable to look after the house and send Mattie away. Ethan becomes distraught over this and refuses to let Mattie leave, but Ethan's character is meek and his inaction against Zeena leaves him frustrated. He often thinks and never acts out what he wants, until he is to drop Mattie off at the train station. There's a running theme through out the book about going sledding and they never go sledding, but decide to do it the day she leaves on a whim. They go down a few times and there's a huge Elm tree at the base of the hill, they go up one more time and decide to commit suicide by crashing into the tree. They fail and end up invalids the rest of their lives.

The imagery and the book really lend itself to the ideas of our music: it's dark and bleak. There are also the themes of Ethan's character: the introspection and his submissive, but envisaging nature. The forbidden love creates this tension and longing as well.

Ah-ha! I see wikipedia has removed us from the Frome site! A couple of months ago someone added us to it.
