Amoral- Fallen Leaves & Dead Sparrow (Circus Maximus fans take note)

I like this, if Mikey & the guy from Mind Odyssey (name escapes me atm) had a child, he'd sing like this...... :Smokedev:

Ari Koivunen is s damn fine singer IMO. His 2 solo albums are very good as well, especially the 2nd one, Becoming.

melodic...except the grunts.

This CD is very strong, with a little bit of everything. We've got melodic, we've got progressive, we've got blast beats and grunting. The future looks tasty bright

I forgot about that specific tune. I was actually taken back when it hit because of how melodic the first part of the song was.

I think this is one of the most untalented singers in the universe and I cry every time I hear that this band is still around knowing how unbelievably good the first couple of records were, but I guess I'm in the minority around here on this.

Man, hearing this stuff makes me miss their early years. Not that I don't like the melodic singing but their "Reptile Ride" album was a classic melodic death metal album. It really did hint at this newer direction just minus the singing.

I think this album is amazing, I have been listening to it a ton over the last week or so. I have not heard anything else from them so I have no other point of comparison, but I can say I like this quite a bit.

They released their first video for the song Blueprints. I like the song a lot, but it is not representative of the album since it is a straight-forward ballad while most of the album is complex prog-metal

It is rather scary how much our tastes are matching up at the moment: Need, Dynazty, and now Amoral.

I have been shocked about not only how many strong albums have come out early in this year, but whom they have come from. These albums are coming from bands I either never heard from before (Amoral and Need) or bands that I did not think would ever be capable of of turning out such a strong album (Dynazty). I guess this is why I have never gotten tired of music this many year on.

The other thing about Amoral is that I kinda passed them up when this was originally posted. From some reason No Familiar Faces did not grab me the first time. It was only when I heard Bluleprints that I gave the album another shot, again which is strange since it is atypical of the rest of the album. It is weird to for me to think that these albums (Dynazty and Amoral) would be bumping a new Sonata Artica album for me less than a week after it was released. That is not a knock against the new SA either I really like it, more a testament to the other two.
