Having been a big fan of their first 3 albums, I was eagerly waiting for Show your colors....however...I had not kept up with the latest developments....popped this album in...and...:erk:

Is this the same band??

There seems to be remnants of the same kickass guitar playing and occassional moments of groove...but nothing compared to the sorta stuff before this....

wth happened?

They fucking suck now. Its the same band, but they traded their vocalis with an "idol show" winner from Finland. Its disgusting...

Chanced from good melodic death metal to the worst power metal band on the planet:Puke:

Okay, I'll admit that second picture is horrible, and that Ari guy is not in the same league as most clean vocalists.

That said, much of it sounds like old Amoral (which I listened to to see what it sounded like) but with clean vocals, which I enjoy. So I actually like Show Your Colors. Vocals are meh, but they're clean, at least, and the old groove guitar work is preserved. I'll take it.

I'll give that they should have changed their band name if they're going to make that drastic a change. And I imagine that melodeath fans find this change as repulsive as I find, say, "Chameleon". :p So I get the hate without sharing in it.

The second picture is clearly a joke, lol. That said, SYC was terrible, but only about half of RR was good anyway.

It was clear if you listened to RR for any length of time that they were heading this direction. Decrowning is fucking awesome and the debut was solid too, but RR was missing a lot of the slower, heavier sections.

Ari Koivunen is the winner of Finland's Idols competition in 2007 (a reality TV show where the voted winner is awarded a record contract, Finnish version of American Idol). The program is more usually associated with pop acts.

I agree though, earlier Amoral stuff is great. I wonder what the rest of the band's members think of it all.
