Anyone have this book? Or is a serious Ampeghead?
I bought a used Ampeg V4 (8 ohms) 4x12 guitar cab around 1992 and have been happy with it but never knew anything detailed about it and now I find myself very interested in it. Serial # 151520-9 Has a plastic "a" logo on the blue/silver sparkle grill cloth and a seperate platform with casters attached that screws into the side of the cab.
1. What year was it released?
2. What wood is it made with?
3. What brand/model speakers did it come with?
I emailed Ampeg and they said this book is a good reference for things like this and that it looks like my cab is from the mid seventies. I can't find much on the net. This is the cab that I mentioned before on here that a few weeks after buying it, the music store sent me a note that said "I understand Randy Rhodes used one of the Ampeg cabs you now own!"
Unfortunately, after taking these pics, I put a 2 inch tear in the top left speaker.
