I thought you guys might like to hear a side by side of a couple amps.

This is just the right-hand rhythm track from LRA run through the Ampeg, Marshall and Mesa into my Randall cab with V30's. Lower speakers, center of speaker mic'd with an SM57 and Audix i5 about 1in from the dimple back into the Onyx 400F.

I haven't decoupled the cab and mic's from the floor yet so there's a bad resonant woomph on the Mesa around 110Hz. That's a project for this weekend. And I haven't varied mic position, even though that could vastly improve the tone per amp.

I'll post amp settings tonite when I can open the project notes.

Blankets may be your friend.
As Trev said, there's something really phasey going on with those tones.

Alright. So I put the cab on the GRAMMA pad, Tri-Expanders up around the mics, mics on pads, heavy blanket and a mattress hooked around. I'd appreciate it if you guys can take a listen to these new tracks and tell me if the phasing is still occurring.

This is through the Orange Dual Terror on the Tiny Terror channel. I didn't feel like lugging in a heavy amp tonite.
