We all know that the most famous of guitars and basses the Fender Tele, Strat, Precision and Jazz bass along with the Stingray and G&L guitars and basses were all made primarily by Leo Fender. Leo was a brilliant, creative engineer but was not a musician.
Along sid of him but never heard much of was a man by the name of George Fullerton Leo's friend and employee since the earliest days of Fender. After the meltdown of MusicMan Leo formed a new company in partnership with his lifelong friend G&L standing for George and Leo.
George was an artist and musician who gave artistic input and suggestions to Leo on his creations.
George was a humble and unassuming man and was a fountain of knowledge on why what was on instruments he helped build.
He passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday. He was the last of a special breed.
