On Saturday, March 29th, The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) in association with The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) streamed The Juno Awards Gala online from Vancouver, BC. It took place before the Juno Awards, which aired on Sunday, March 30th, and features electric performances and award presentations from new faces and treasured favourites, as well as winners of 40+ Juno Awards.
As part of The Juno Awards Gala, Anciients won “Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year” for Beyond The Reach Of The Sun.

PowerNerd – Devin Townsend – InsideOutMusic/Sony
Fire – Kittie – Sumerian/Virgin

Prior to being named winners of “Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year”, Anciients posted the following message on social media:
“We’re wishing the best of luck to the other nominees. Win or lose, we’re just very grateful to be included amongst such amazing artists.”
After being declared winners of “Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year”, Anciients began their acceptance speech by saying, “Holy Shit! We weren’t expecting this. It’s just amazing.”
This marks the second time Anciients has won a Juno in this category, joining Voivod as the only other repeat winners.
