I just got a video of Frost from Satyricon doing a studio sound check. Shot from a handicam. First it's just an overhead of him doing a disgustingly loud, fast, solid blast. Then it cuts down to his kick, and OM*fukin'*G, he does his blasts single-pedal. What a bastard.

So... discuss non-triggered extreme metal drumgods. First person to say Hellhammer gets cornholed by Satan.

It's incredibly hard to keep time and hold the volume doing it single foot. It's a bit harder to coordinate two-foot style, but once you get the feel it's much easier. Of course single sounds better, but it's fucking evil on the calf muscles.

You guys mean there is only one bass drum with one pedal on it instead of two pedals, or two bass drums?

I used to do blasts beats with a single pedal, but as soon as I got my tama double bass kit I started using both feet, I can keep time better like that. Now Im working on playing 16ths with my feet and 8ths on the snare and hi hat. Here is something difficult to do, play 16ths with your feet, 8ths on the snare, and triplets with your right hand on the ride, Ive heard that beat on the new Nile Album.
