The event was in two weeks. Somebody is going to be filing for bankruptcy as a result of these events. We may have had to replace four bands, but these people lost everything. Bands have already been paid deposits, paid for flights, etc. Catering, hotels, etc was already set up. Bands that paid to play may not see a dime back. It's a total fiasco.

It's terrible isn't it!

I had seriously considered going to this because of Saigon Kick reuniting for the gig, but in hind sight...

I see massive lawsuits flying as the result of this. Ugh.... only the lawyers will make out like bandits on this one. Everyone else will be in a world of hurt. I hate it when this sort of crap happens.

So I wonder what happened regarding use of the casino? Did they know what they were in for? Or did someone tip them off and they got scared? Glad that Glenn has an ongoing relationship with Center Stage. Sure - it gets trashed during the event, but even then we're not that bad on the place! :)

Wow, this is crazy. For those of you wondering here was the band list.

That's a huge line up. From the numbers Glenn said he lost over 3 bands... I can't imagine what happened with that many people involved.

Side note: What a crazy line up! It ranges from power metal greats to to 90s "where are they now" alternative bands.

If I understood some of the posts at the Rocklahoma forum correctly, there were bands that declined RH for this as well as potential attendees. So this fest hurt other fests a little bit, but is now not happening at all. This is the kind of shit that kills a scene off.

SAXON
PRIMAL FEAR
ARMORED SAINT

Was quite a big festival, but only a few bands interested me and I'm gonna see Primal Fear anyway :D, but I wish I could see Saxon and Armored Saint.

Any chance that since they have visas approved can be squeezed into PPX? :p

Being laid off, I want to make sure I make it to next years ProgPower so that's why I skipped it. Glad I did, though I wanted to see Saigon Kick, Hardcore Superstar, and Tyketto. PP is more important to support.

I was shocked that this was to be held in Algona, IA.

Sucks for everybody involved though. I'm surprised they weren't able to find fairgrounds or something to switch it to.

nice lineup but how the hell were they going to make any money at $45 a day tickets? I think that's what I saw. I would think to pull this type of 3 day festival off with the kind of names on the bill one would have very, very deep pockets.

Apparently they had it at a fairground or something just like Rocklahoma, but then they switched it to the casino a month or so ago.....then the casino bailed I guess. Drama. I really do feel bad for the people that put all the blood, sweat, tears, and $$$ into making this happen.....

Indeed. Seems there's a lot of mud being slung around.

It seems obvious though that this wasn't a very well-planned event. I wouldn't compare it to ProgPower. Not even close.

Oh, Kaosaur, Kaosaur, Kaosaur. Your statement does not even scratch the surface. It has been said that the Casino was NEVER involved in the first place. That it was only used as a landmark. Furthermore, the place that was going to be used was already in use.....for CROPS! It is beginning to look more and more like a scam as thousands of tickets reportedly were sold for this. It is apparent that no permits for land use were even sought out for this.

Whoever put this together made Jack Koshick look like an honest man. There are bands already screaming "FRAUD!" Whoever put this together is going to be in hiding for a long time.

Yeah I specifically didn't bring up the obvious that anyone who is really interested could pull up in 5 seconds because that kind of crap and their bullshit drama has no business on THIS forum.

You know, out of respect to Glenn and all the fine work he puts into this festival. As much as even I've gotten on his case this year...
