...andOceans

i didnt mean "gay" as in bad, but when k24ts(is that right?) does those little girlish things when he sings real high, like in the beginning of the song Samtal Med Tankar, it tends to lead me to believe he might be a little queery or bi, especially in the pictures. i agree the 1st two are their best though the guitars are drowned out.

whats your thoughts on the ...andOceans vs. Bloodthorn split? if youve heard it that is...they have a great cover of GGFH

I have Symmetry of I and AMGOD but really neither of them get a lot of play. I would say I like AMGOD more because there's some really cool tracks on it. Symmetry just never got a lot of attention. I know that didn't answer your question either...

I like them- but AMGOD was very simplistic, as was their new one Cypher. I do rather like Symmetry of I. And whats with their singer being gay- what the hell is the matter with his voice? Gay is James Labrie or any other castrated power metal screamer.

meh, I've only got AMGOD. I bought it after hearing and absolutely loving 'Tears Have No Name' utterly amazing song.....they've got some really good riffing, very atmospheric keys and awesome lyrics from what I hear on AMGOD but I admit I don't spin it very often...I haven't heard anything from any of their other albums.

And Oceans is a great band, I actually find myself enjoying all of their releases. The Symmetry Of I - The Circle Of O is my favourite release, really good melodic blackish metal (and cool songtitles too :) )

the only thing i really dislike about them is the fact that on the first 2 albums and the split w/bloodthorn the guitars are drowned out in keyboards, but they fixed it on the last 2 albums

Thats what i loved about the first albums, the keyboards provided the melody while the guitar was the backbone of the song - Mechanic Hippie has to be one of the greatest songs ever. AMGOD and Cypher seemed forced and rigid, losing the ambience and melody of their first releases.
