Why an anechoic chamber?
-Since the room mics have no coloration you can decrease the proximity effect without introducing room coloration of the tone.
- the soundwave flattens out the more it expands, that is why the phase is also more accurate when using mics that are farther away
- even close mics don't supper from roomeffects like standing waves, room modes,... there is next to no comb filtering
