...without announcing who the new singer is...

They will be performing at 70,000 Tons in January. I just thought I'd share that if Andre is the singer, I will swim after that boat if I have to.

Bands have been going on tour for years without announcing me as their new lead singer. I've learned to live with it.

Got burned by Queensryche just this year...sigh...

Rock on!

It would be wild if Milton found out that Angra's new singer was named "Andre", he swam to the boat, climbed up onto the poop deck, got a Corona, sashayed up to the rail, and when Angra came to the stage, announced the new frontman was some schlub named Andre LeBoeuf.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

The look on his face would be priceless. :p

Denying Matos' talent and important contributions to the scene (even if not as relevant anymore) is the stupidest thng one can do, and I say this with all bias aside...

I didn't deny him anything. I just said I don't get the fanatacism that gets pointed his way. Clearly there is personal taste involved, but...dunno. I just remember listening to one of his solo discs the year he was slated for the fest and I couldn't even finish it. His time in Angra was not as bad, but I'd take Edu every time.

I can't say much about Edu live, but I love him on disc. Which I can't say about Matos.

Gotcha. I wasn't sure if you were just a naysayer without really knowing about his career or not. :)

I understand that. I personally still don't understand the fanaticism towards Arjen Lucassen and Ayreon. But I know how important of a role he's played in the progressive metal scene, having his releases become a staple of the genre. They still put me to sleep as well, but you gotta give him credit, just as Andre deserves his.

Interesting. Do you really think an album like Aurora Consurgens or Aqua is a better release (both musically and vocally) than, say, classics like Holy Land and Angels Cry? That's a really bold statement, and while again, it is all about personal taste, I find it absurdly unlikely that anyone would make that choice.

Edu blew his voice because Angra basically forced him to sing stuff out of his register. It got to the point that live performances with Edu were just unbearable to watch. Nothing compared to the Edu we got in 2002 at ProgPower III. I'll show you three videos and then you can see how he went downhill... (which is a shame, as I love the guy!)

Angra at Loud Park (2005):

Angra at Rock in Rio (2011 - beware!):
