We'll it seems the Brazilian boys are going to deliver some power metal around here and I'm ready for it

It's around $21 I consider it cheap for our standards, what do you people think?

NP: Solstice - 'New Dark Age'

I know. I paid $25 for Dio/Scorpions/Deep Purple (Reno Hilton Open Amphitheatre), and then $45 for the G3 (Reno Hilton Theatre), and $39.50 for Joe Satriani (alone in the same venue).

So the price is quite reasonable IMO even for Costa Rican standards, and I heard of people complaining. Damn they paid $4 for some local band, and much more for some Latin idols :puke: (who filled out a football field), but they complain paying good money for Angra (first and maybe only time in the country)?

It really pisses me off, I'm glad I contributed already and I'm going to enjoy the show even if Matos is not there :erk: :p

NP: Freedom Call - 'Over The Rainbow'

Man, you are extremely lucky. Aurora Consurgens was a fucking phenomenal release. I'd love to have seen it played live.

If you really like a band 21$ isn´t too expensive. Besides in your country you say it´s difficult seeing many international metal bands.

I saw Angra one month ago. They got problems and it wasn´t the best of their shows but it´s always fine listening a lot of good power/metal/prog songs, classic and from "Aurora consurgens".

If you´re interested, you can read my review. It´s written in spanish but I guess you don´t mind...

Indeed most people does not value that fact, metalheads can be such cry babies sometimes...

As for your review pretty complete as a matter of fact. Lucky you to see Firewind too although I would have been also disappointed by the "loss" of Apollo that night. As for the Angra setlist/review, I'm not going with higher expectations than the ones you mentioned, so I guess it'll deliver for me ;)

Yeah, if 21$ for seeing a band the size of Angra is too much for someone they should stay out of the gig regardless...
Have a great time Wyv and let's hope it won't be just you and the owner's dog watching the show.:kickass:

I´m sure you´ll enjoy the gig. Kiko and Rafael are overwhelming, Falaschi is a very frontman and the rythm section is even better than the rest. Aquilles is superb!

Besides, I think they got the "Matos aureole" and Falaschi albums are underrated. Nowadays Angra are heavier than ever and quality songwriters.

I think it's a pretty fair price. I paid three times that for my Heaven and Hell ticket. I paid about that to see the Frank Hannon Band a coupla months ago. I'd say that's about average for bands of Angra's stature around here. Have a good time and I'll be looking forward to a full report! :headbang: :kickass:

ah, friend of me is a big fan and wanted to see them. They canceled shows 2 times though so you'll see them before we do here for once ;-)

They can always cancel, nothing is safe until the last minute. :saint:

Was that before or after Tickbastard upcharged your firstborn? We got our tickets for $56, but came out to $69.50 with upcharges.

I'm not even familiar with Angra, other than a few songs, but $21 American seems pretty cheap to me these days.

That price tag on Wyv's ticket that reads 10,000 scares the spit outta me though.

And a lot of people here too, actually is a considerable sum depending on your income. And lots of young metalheads cannot afford it actually (hence the complaints). Of course me working with a "decent" income and my friends working too consider it a fair price.

On the other hand $69.50, will be 36.140 colones which is a family's two weeks groceries in many cases.

NP: Mekong Delta - 'True Lies'

 They'd have a tough time getting *any* born outta me.

After. But it wasn't Ticketbastard so that's why? The price of the ticket was $49 and service fee was $9.50. At least they called it a fee rather than a convenience.

Egads! That is scary. Guess it's no big surprise that Costa Rica isn't a regular on anyone's tour stops.

Actually you're wrong. If you come with USA dollars (or Euros) the place is very cheap, specially food. The problem is the local income which is NOT in $$$ :erk:

FYI, if I can get a $2000 monthly income (after taxes) it'll be considered here a very good to high salary. What do you do with $24000/year in USA?

I'm looking now for a low-stress job in the university if possible and I know my income will be <$10000/year and it's fine for me. I rather cut short some expenses than loose my liver and sanity in the process.

NP: Rata Blanca - 'Rompe El Hechizo'

That's the thing, cheap show for the band with currency translation, but if none of the local people can afford to go, there's no payoff. It's just a Costa Rican vacation with a gig mixed in for tax purposes.

24K ain't shit here, like starting wage for a semi-professional job. It's the beginning of getting to "middle" class. I'm with you, Wvy, the money isn't as important as enjoyment of life. I just need enough mula to get by. I'd rather be happy than rich.
