Hi,

I'm glad to see some anime images appearing on the forum.

I'm really into anime but sadly we only get selected titles here in England.

My Favourites are:

Perfect Blue
Macross Plus: The movie
Akira
Wicked City
Tokyo Babylon 1+2
Doomed Megalopolis

These are the UK titles - I don't know what the original Japanese titles are!?

Yeah I have seen Vampire Hunter D. It rules! It's pretty surreal and creepy which is always a bonus - what's with the talking hand?

I don't remember "Battle of the planets" - it's sounds familiar but I can't quite place it.

Is the sequel to Vampire hunter D "Blood the last Vampire"?

I haven't seen that yet.

Battle Of The Planets is known by another tile in Japan but I can't remember what it is at the moment. I'll post it soon as I find out. Yeah Vampire Hunter D rocks!!!!
The sequel is titled: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodhunt. At least I think it is.

Anime fucking rules!
<----------------- says Mihoshi! :D

Nee hee hee....I'm a massive Tenchi Muyo! fan myself, as the name and avatar gives away. OVA and manga mostly - lost interest in Tenchi Universe a while back, and Tenchi In Tokyo ain't worth much thought outside the viewing time. Good acronym though - TiT.

Lately I've got into Yu-Gi-Oh! Yeah, it's mainstream material....the Papa Roach of anime, but I still think it's cool. Something about kids my age who spend all their time playing cards...I can relate to that badly :D

What else? Perfect Blue is great, that's probably my favourite anime film. Dragon Ball is funny, Gundam Wing good for bishonen but not much else. Cowboy Bebop....damn cool. Could rifle through my coolection, it's not amazingly big but I could ramble forever...

I recommend anime fans - if you've got a comic shop local to you, see if they've got Anime Invasion magazine on import. It's probably more mainstream than Animerica or whatever else is out there but it's still damn good. Also there's the new Shonen Jump that looks worth looking out for!

Well I do believe a certain series called Inu-yasha has hit Cartoon Network in the US. I had someone on the Tenchi Muyo! ml I'm on send me a pic of it cos I'd never heard of it before and this pic sounded interested, and I'm all "Cor, BISHIE heaven!" and now suddenly it's all over the fucking place! One of my mates is getting broadband soon so hopefully he'll be downloading bits of the series for me (80+ episodes in Japan I think I heard). Sounds well worth checking out!

Ghost In The Shell 2 is in the works as well, and Spirited Away is on theatrical release in America as we speak. That's all the random info I can remember right now...

Oh yeah, there's plans to release the first two series' of DragonBall Z completely UNCENSORED but that won't be ready in Japan 'til next year and America by 2004, it's expected. Should be great cos it'll kick the crap out of the wimpy commercialised bollocks that's on Cartoon Network!

I want unedited Yu-Gi-Oh!

The censors in Britain really to cut anime films to shreds. It took years to release Urotsukidoji 4 because they originally wanted to cut over 20 minutes of footage! Then again Urotsukidoji is pretty extreme stuff.

There are a few limited cinema releases happening later this year in London but nothing in the south of England.

Shit, nothing I'd be able to catch then :bah:

I found a Urotsukodoji DVD in MVC some weeks back...only it wasn't the film as such, it was just the storyboard of it - apparently it is that grim!

I think I'll have to try pick up Urotty again, actually...I borrowed it off a mate ages back and enjoyed it, even if I was a little freaked out. Kinda in the mood for it again...

Hey, I'm a fan of anime and (mostly) manga but, hell, I don't know anything you mentioned, except ghost in the shell and inu-yasha!!

Here in italy every single kid grows up watching japanese cartoons on tv, either the giant robot ones or those featuring 'little witches' (Creamy Mami is the first that comes to my mind).

Me, I mostly read mangas, I almost hate Dragon Ball, while I'm totally fond of Rumiko Takahashi - Urusey Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Ranma 1/2. Any of you knows Mitsuru Adachi ?
