if the jordison snare was something better than steel, the world would be a much better place.
if it was brass or even better, bronze, think of how many fanboys would actually have amazing snares!

how do you usually cut the sample on the transient to bounce each hit? when i make samples i normally zoom in and chop it just before what I think is the transient but i feel as if im doing it horribly wrong haha

Haha, I wasn't aware of what the shell was made of, but it sounds pretty good regardless.

I just zoom wayyyyyy in and cut it right at the point where the level goes up.

Where the maroon/purple colored line is, you can see the audio bumps up a little right there, that is where I slice it (the purple line). I use slip editing and the grid to make it a quick and easy process, as well as consistent results for all samples.
