The SM57 has had the transformer removed, it gives a different sound to the regular SM57.

Just wanted to say I would love to hear these in a mix from someone, just curious what kind of sounds can be had with different blends, mainly the kick.

Yup! And his kick drum as well. I have a Gretsch Catalina Birch set I will be sampling next.
