Other decent bands that I wouldn't have seen on their own, but did see because they were with another band:

AC/DC - Queensryche opened
David Bowie - with Nine Inch Nails
David Lee Roth - Cinderella opened
Def Leppard - Queensryche opened
Devo - at Lollapalooza '96
Garbage - opened for Alanis Morissette
Judas Priest - Megadeth and Testament opened
Ozzy Osbourne - once because Metallica was supposed to open but didn't, and the second time because Anthrax was supposed to open but didn't (fucking Winger opened instead)

Bands that I want to see, but haven't yet:

Monster Magnet
Tool

Megadeth is in the lead with 10 shows, but the Presidents of the USA are catching up (9th show in a couple of weeks)

@Steve - Both Pantera shows I went to were great. They were at home, and comfortable...made for a good energy. Plus at one of them they had their Clubhouse strippers backstage and they came out and flashed everyone :p

That particular concert though, the one with the boobs, got way out of hand, but what do you expect at a home concert? Hundreds of people trying to rush into the standing room section at the same time, people jumping off balconies, and just overall insanity from the fans. The police pepper sprayed an entire section of the arena, there was a big cloud of it. Not my section though! But a guy did jump off the balcony my brother and I were on (to go and rush the standing room section like everyone else), and I dunno what became of him. All the metal barricades they had set up around the mosh pit were just trashed. When we left the show there were several ambulances lined up outside. I remember seeing a girl I went to school with being hauled away with wounds. She was manly and always enjoyed a good fight though. Good times :loco:

The other Pantera show I went to was a bit more chill. It was at an outdoor venue and most of the crazy people stayed way back on the lawn. They were crazy though. We had seats under the pavilion, but I had to walk alongside the lawn section to go to the bathroom, and almost got a beer bottle hurled at me, plus they had fires going on the lawn, and were moshing in circles around them. At one point everyone with seats under the pavilion started banging their seats together in unison, I mean THOUSANDS of people. I think Phil garbled something about it being beautiful lol.

Musically there were great at both shows, and happy to be playing at home. I've never seen fans go so crazy at a concert :zombie:

DEV: i hope you get to go to a TOOL concert eventually. they are sooo great. i kinda wanna see them again but i'm just so not into their new stuff beyond like 2 songs off of lateralus

Yeah, every time they come around, I don't find out until after it's sold out. I don't like the newer stuff as much either, but I do still want to see them.

Pantera sounded great. The performance was only hampered slightly by Phil's rants seemingly after every song.

That reminds me of Suicidal Tendencies. They opened for Megadeth on the Rust in Peace tour and between EVERY song Mike Muir would mumble-rant for 3 or 4 minutes. It might have been okay if you could understand a word he was saying, but no.
