I'm gonna have to jump on the bandwagon and say this record is boring as hell. How they went from three really good albums to this is beyond me, but the songwriting, especially the lyrics, is pretty mediocre.

It sounds virtually identical to 'The End Of Heartache' to me. You could swap any of the songs and no one would notice. It's no worse than that record, it's just boring because it's so similar - especially after the diversity they had on 'Alive Or Just Breathing'. I also get this nagging feeling that Howard Jones can only sing two different melodies.

I agree with the last bit, but I think End Of Heartache was way better than this one. There's really nothing on this one that is actually that heavy, the lyrics are godawful, and the vocal melodies on EoH were quite a bit more varied. I think they should stick with Adam D writing the band's material rather than the collaboration they apparently had on this one.

I also think the album is boring as fuck. The vocals sound like shit. The weird nasal honky effects on the clean vocals sound like crap to me and there's too much delay/reverb on the screams. I think this would have been a lot better if Andy had mixed it. To me it sounds like Adam tried to make it sound larger than life, but it turned out flat and boring. It lacks the clear and "in your face" production it deserves.

This band needs to stop writing the same fucking song over and over and over and over and over and over again. Jesus. I know these guys can solo, put some fucking leads in these songs, ditch the useless breakdowns, stop doing the clean choruses, and start playing some fucking riffs.

i wonder if what has leaked is the actual finished album? i know a lot of times people complain about stuff like that in downloads, and the actual release turns out sounding much better
