another new killswitch song...

i wonder if what has leaked is the actual finished album? i know a lot of times people complain about stuff like that in downloads, and the actual release turns out sounding much better
No, it's the actual album and reflects the songs that KSE have made available online. The quality of the rip is a great one, but the CD is just so :Puke:

guess i'm in the minority, but i liked the two songs (the one on roadrunner and the one on vans.com).

howard can fucking sing and i'm glad he's doing it a bit more.

i'm gonna see these guys at the house of blues in new orleans. i'm sure they'll be playing the new tunes - we'll see how they sound live.

Yeah, the CD is quite boring. Listenable but boring.

I think the new "DIECAST" sounds more like what everyone was expecting from KSE.

Just listened to it all the way through for the first time. I don't mind it at all. It's nowhere near as great as End of Heartache, but it certainly doesn't suck to my ears. Production-wise, it sounds a little flat in the top-end but that could be the mp3 compression. It sounds like Adam did a lot more singing on this one himself. Howard sounds a little tame for my liking though. Will be buying this...and already got tix to see them in January.

Strangely enough they left off "This Fire Burns" which is a great track and better than anything on this and was released online a while back.

mh cmon don't you think you're exaggerating a bit ?
heck no, they sound horrible compared to anything out right now, including adam d's own productions (all that remains, underoath)

the guitars on those albums sound better than his own
and im not even speaking in terms of opinion on guitar sound, even though all sound is subjective, i mean the guitars literally sound crappy like decreased quality or something...

it doesnt fit the mix very well either

I've been listening to the album all morning at work and production qualms aside, it's growing on me. At the end of the day I'm a sucker for big melodic metal with a little bit of balls and this thing is doing it for me. There are a few filler tracks on it, but otherwise I'm impressed. My Curse just sticks in my head.

The encode I have is 320kbps but it certainly doesn't sound like it. The high end is awful and I doubt it's the actual album production. It sounds to my ears like it's just a crap encode. Will have to see what the CD sounds like.

Being that no one here has a guaranteed legitimate copy of the real release in their hands, I still think all this talk about the mix is pretty useless. And knowing Adam D's ear for guitar tone, why would anyone seriously think that he would settle for something crappy? From all that I've heard so far, the guitars have tons of thickness and clarity...even in a poor quality internet rip.

maybe i am just too opinionated about it, but it sounds digital or something
i dislike it

digital ??? it's sounds really lush and warm to me yet has that chug and clarity

i think the guitar tone is better than EOH but andy's drum mix and overall mix on EOH slay

and i think All That Remain's Fall of ideals sounds better overall than this album

songs i like :

Break The Silence
Arms of sorrow
As Daylight Dies
My Curse

and yea Howards sounds really boring to me now , i 'm so glad adam D is singing so much more

i agree, all that remains is way better sounding

I think the album sounds great(better then a lot of other releases this year)
but adam has made much better work on the parkway drive.
He tried to make the same sound like andy.

And I think the songs are selling out!!! It´s so emo I can listen to the used.
The song writting is bad. It´s so :waah:

I like to remember me on "vide infra", "to the son of man" ,"rose of sheryn"

"a bit farewell"... these are what I expected when I read the interviews.

on the songwriting front as I said before, I like it....but only if I ignore the lyrics. They've rolled out almost as many cliches as Trivium....

dont really mind guitar tone, but my main gripe (that suprisingly no one else has mentioned) is that the drums r far too quiet.
actually if the guitars and bass were brought down it would help loads as vox r a bit quiet too.
As people have already said the mix on the All That Remains album is much better, strange. I'm thinking it could be the mastering messed it up (drums got too squashed)?
songs have grown on me a bit, still dissapointing tho.

the first 5track leak sounded that way, as if it was brutally squashed with
a maximizer. the actual album sounds balanced imho.
