Anthrax covering ST`s War Inside My Head

way back, early 90's. Jdelphi knows exactly when!!
Seen ST twice!! once opening for Trax on the SOU4EAH tour and on Dynamo Open AIr , along with Biohazard, Fear Factory and Trax (SOWN), great shows!!!

Thanx Dutchy!
I know that back in `80`s Anthrax were good friends with ST, they toured together and stuff...

Of cuz ST is a great live band, seen them once - last year - after 13 long years of waiting for thier gig in Poland. Actually, they did not play in PL but in Czech Republic, very close to Polish border. Before that gig I emailed with Mike Muir for some time and when he wrote me that they`re coming almost to Poland and hoped it`s not far enough from my hometown, I couldnt miss that gig. Especially, that Mike put me and my cycos on the guest list :hotjump: Here` some pictures: http://divx.pl/mike/index2.htm I hope you guys like it

Thrax have done a diverse bunch of covers over the years... "war inside my head", "the bends", "cowboy song" and "thieves" just to name a few... but the one I´d love to hear is their take on "stone the crow". Anselmo sing great on it and it would be exciting to hear Bush vocals on that song.

I`ve heard that Anthrax did that song several times live.
Could anybody tell me which year was that?
Maybe somebody know where I could found that song?

Metal Hammer Festival in Zeche, Borum, West Germany on May 12, 1986

I have a audio copy of this show. I rate it a B-, C+. Will only do trades for shows I dont have.

Good one!
I'd like to hear their version as well.
That's a great song.

Lordlindsey, yeah, Downs first album is fucking amazing. don´t wanna go off-thread here but just a short rant about that great album.

Not a weak song on it, "Lifer", "Bury me in smoke" and "Stone the crow" are my favourites though. I remember first time I saw the video for STC on HBB in... late -95. "Oh look it´s Anselmo... what band is this?" I never were a Pantera-fan, have nothing against them, just not my taste. NOLA is a personal album for me... like to listen to it when everything feels shitty.

The second album is very good too.

Have anyone here heard ThraX do it? I think they did it live a few times back in 96 - 97? Maybe Mr. Wu knows?

Greetings to Poland from the Czech man! ST kick ass although I was somehow disappointed when I saw them last year on the festival.

Hey man, nothing wrong with ST playing, in fact I was carried away by these Brunnen brothers playing! Got to backstage and talked to the drummer later, cool guy, both must have been born with bass and sticks up their asses. But the sound was kinda crappy, not too heavy for such an energic band. Clawfinger the other day, if you were there, kicked lot more ass. And also I thought Cyco should have spent less time talking and more time singing.

I cant say nothing about how ST sounded in the Trutnov amphitheater cuz since 3rd song I was on stage…

Yeah, litlle kid Stevie is really talented bassplayer, his drumming brother Ron as well but it should not be nothing strange especially that their father was a drummer in The Tempations :tickled:
If Brunner Brothers were not that talented they probably would not join ST&IG back in 2001. mind you guys that Steve was 16 years old at that time and Ron was 18. On the other hand it wasn’t first time that ST&IG was not afraid to give a chance and show to the world young talented musicians – when IG recorded their 3rd LP Groove Family Cyco their new drummer Brooks Wackerman was 16. Then after ST got back together in 1997, their new bassplayer Josh Paul was only 19 years old and IMHO there was a huge pressure on him to replace Robert Trujillo and he handled it pretty good.

Talking about Steve, he tries to put lots of his own style into old ST song live, anytime I watch live at Trutnov I simply cant wait for the new ST&IG albums that come out this summer and live DVD.

BTW – that hot chick is a Polish Cycette, wife of a Polish Cyco
