Anthrax to film London show for a DVD release!

I don't intend to be a grumpy old fart, but another live release?
A DVD with some extras on it is all fine, but if they release another live record at this point, I'm not sure I'll bother buying it.

Don't get me wrong. Anthrax sound amazing live, and they've released some fine live records in the past. In fact, quite a few.

I'd rather they did another studio album and got some more new tunes under their collective belt before they banged out another live album.
That way they could do a live album with main focus on "the new era" with some old classics thrown in, instead of a live album consisting of mostly old tunes and few new ones.

That would be the best idea.

more anticipation than ever, its not like a filler or anyhting, this is anthrax in there prime on there best selling record in yonks,im fucking hanging for a new anthrax dvd, diff story of it was just a live cd..

I was at this London show. Absolutely amazing. Set was brilliant, band was on form, and the atmosphere was just electric. I wish I had got less drunk because there are large parts of it that I don't remember (I honestly have no memory of hearing Belly of the Beast, which is a real shame because they don't play that song often).

The other downer was that 4 or 5 people had their phones stolen, including me. Seems there was some asshole walking round nicking phones- don't expect that sort of thing at an Anthrax show. As far as the show itself goes though- 10/10. I'm hoping to appear on the DVD at some point crowdsurfing/ moshing/ getting a minor concussion in the war dance lol.

It's been five years since their last live release, Alive II. It's not like they've gone all Iron Maiden on us.

True. At the same time, since WCFYA, five Anthrax live albums have been released, not including the Big Four box.

Obviously, some of those records have been released without the band having a say, but still. I'm not craving for yet another album with live versions of I am the Law and Got the Time.

However, I've never really been that into live albums in general.

5 really? I can only think of MOMD and Alive II, which were both DVD's with a live cd.

Sorry! I meant four.

MOMD
Alive 2
Extended Versions
Caught in a Mosh: BBC Live in Concert.

I suspect that Extended Versions and the BBC double album were released without the bands involvement, though.

Not that many full live albums from before WCFYA, though.
I can only think of one: Live - The Island Years.

Ah, to heck with it. They might as well release another one.
I'll probably buy it...maybe.

No "In My World"? :-(

"My greatest fear as a kid
One which I always kept hid
Was to come home from school
And find my mother dead"

One of the darkest lines in Anthrax history. That and pretty much anything from Fistful Of Metal ("We laughed when you died, you sit in your grave, just waiting to turn into Satan's slave")

I think In My World is one the very best songs they've ever written. For me also the second best song on their best album of all time (no Pun intended).
