I am just wondering if anyone knows any good books/websites for folk or traditional or even world music. All I can find is American folk music which does not interest me very much.

Any help would be very much apreciated!

Thanks

Tye

Well... I am a guitarsit... for 6 years...
I don't know what do you mean by Folk, Traditional, World Music (Pop???)
I can give you Israeli Folk music? will it be good?
Be more specific.

If you don't I can send you some GuitarPro 4 files.
If you don't use GuitarPro 4 then I can write you chords.

Yes some Israeli folk music would be very good! If you could post some links that would be good. or if you need to email my address is tycurliss@yahoo.co.uk .

Sure, No problem. Final question:
Do you use guitar pro? coz if not I can give you Chord's only.
I'm too lazy to write tabs.

Oh. here you are. I can post you some good folk rock songs:
Monica Sex - Maca Afora (Gray Strike)
http://www.geocities.com/mtkingdom/maca.html
Monica Sex - Ish Kash (Straw Man)
http://www.geocities.com/mtkingdom/kash.html
Here is a song I personally like
Tipex - Stam
http://www.geocities.com/mtkingdom/stam.html
The folkiest folk guitarist IMO is Shlomo Artzi, here are some of his songs.
Shlomo Artzi - Ahavtia (Loved Her)
http://www.geocities.com/mtkingdom/ahavtiha.html
The Folkiest band is Machina. Here you go, some of their songs.
Machina - Ahake lah ba sadot (I'll wait for you at the fields)
http://www.geocities.com/mtkingdom/ahake.html
Machina - Mashehu Katan Ve Tov (Something Small and Good)
http://www.geocities.com/mtkingdom/smallthg.html

I have some more but everything else is tabbed in GuitarPro or in chords.

Thanks very much. I don't use guitar pro. Is it like a tab editor?

What I meant by folk etc was music that originates or is associated with a country or province.

Guitar Pro is a tab editor/palyer/creator
You can hear the tabs.

I understand what folk means, but that what folk means to me :)
There are bands that each israeli knows that's what folk means to me.
