I believe this comes out on Tuesday. So far I've just heard one video and it seems more agressive and heavy than usual, but still liked it. Just curious if anyone's heard more than 1 song?

It's got a good mix of heavier and more melodic songs. I would say it's slightly less progressive than their past albums. Hopefully you guys will love it as much as I do! The US release date is supposedly September 11th although I've seen some online stores have the import already.
It left me kind of cold on the first listen. It's not that it was bad, but it just didn't sound nearly as good as I was expecting. I'm going to revisit it in a week or two to see if I was just in the wrong mood for it or something.

As with everything else I've heard by them, it never really made me go "wow". Then again, I will revisit it to give them a better chance.

I'm with you. It's good but not great after 2 listens. But then, it was always this way for me with Cloudscape. Save for the 1st album that clicked right away, it took multiple listens with the follow-ups to get into them but now I like all their albums. It should be the same with New Era, cause it's quality stuff, greatly played, sung and produced. Vocals are more on the aggressive side at times, which is a change, but it doesn't bother me.

Yes, it's out in North America Sept 11th, I'll have copies at ProgPower at the Nightmare vending tables in Vinyl and if you want it a week earlier, you can pre-order it at Nightmare for only 12.99 or on Amazon, You'll save a lot over the import by waiting a bit.
