cool band. i was wondering if their album motel california was worth getting? i heard it was a little weird

Great timing you have... I was just watching some UKJ videos on Youtube not two hours ago myself! I haven't heard that third album either but they were definitely a cool band. I listened to the first two albums a lot when I was a kid; looking back I have to say the debut is a bit of a novelty record but Menace to Sobriety is still a groovy, laid-back hardrock album. Whitfield Crane had (has?) a great raspy rock voice indeed and you guys might want to check out his duet with John Bush covering Judas Priest's Burnin' Up!:kickass:

yeah i liked their first few releases. a friend of mine said their final album was acustic ballads and metal then all of the funny songs are weird instead of metal. like theres a few hip hop songs, some weird answering maching song. just i heard you have to like a bunch of styles of music to like motel california. i wonder what whitfield crane's band after UGK called medication sounds like?

I remember their hits like "Cat's in the Cradle" and "Everything about you", plus the Sabbath cover but that's all. The guy had a good voice.

He was also the singer for Life of Agony for an album...
Also in Medication with the gut that was in the first incarnation of Soulfly...
I forget his name....
He could sing, I'm not into novelty music though...

I like a couple of songs, but their cover of 'N.I.B.' was really good for my taste. Never own any of their albums tho'.

Whitfield Crane also sung in a project that made a couple of covers of an AC/DC tribute and their version of 'Live Wire' kick ass big time.
