i really dug the production on III, dead raw, not my usual taste in mix etc, but everythings there and averything can be heard, but yeah the mix on the new stuff sounds great!

Sounds excellent. I loved The Oncoming Storm but never really got into III. Next month is going to be pretty cool when it comes to album releases. Metallica, The Haunted, Unearth...

+1 The only reason I don't listen to them. I wouldn't say I can stand him, but he keeps me from listening to them.

+1. And songwise it was their best album IMO.

I like the fact that the new song is in the same direction, i.e not typical early Unearth metalcore stuff. Though the song is good but not awesome, and the vocals are ok but are not that great either.

Andy - Just a few questions about Unearth's mix..

The mix seems very dry, little use of reverb and delay - band's decision?

The vocals seem to be nicely settled between all the instruments, and sit's right in the mix - again, a band's decision?

I ask because I've just finished up doing an EP who cite Unearth as their favourite band, so it'd be good to know how they get their massive sound.

they wanted vox pretty dry , personally I was pushing for a tad more but they felt it made thema tad more brutal. I sat the vox in where I felt they should be.
