Anybody got ENGL V30 impulses?

Nice one, Peter! Any chance we could get another set with the Presence on the head slightly higher? Sounds great though, thanks a lot for that. I actually prefer that to any of guitarhack's ones I've used.

Thanks a ton dude! I haven't tried 'em yet, but I'm planning on it quite soon. In the meantime, I assume you used the power section on your 5150 for these, and on that note, now that you've had it for awhile, how do you like it in comparison to your Powerball? Is the Engl worth the extra $800? (at least that's what the US price difference is)

Yeah, all those original GuitarHack sets are WAY too boomy (the Cab must have been on the floor and not on castors, don't know what that guy was thinking ) and on the fizzy side. The 5150/6505 poweramp produces some SUPERB results, but the Presence has to be quite high. Well that's an observation of the latest set of 70+ Impulses so far. The new Rev ones are tight and full also, but still a little fizzier (not in a bad way) than the 6505.

Nice one Pete, I will check it out. It sure would be good if others here with nice cab's/pre's/converters etc would post some of theirs. :)

Somewhere around 7 would be fantastic. I assume you had it at around 5, as per the clayman setting, originally? It seems when making impulses it helps to boost the presence a bit on the power section, I suppose since there's no treble control or whatnot...

But thanks again mate, sounds fabulous. Almost got a v-amp2 tone sounding half decent with it, heheh.

Damn that's close... Umm I daresay with my currently impaired hearing that the first is mic'ed and the 2nd is impulse? I get a hint of a feeling that there is something about the edge of the tone that's harsher and raspier the second time around...

So Poi...thoughts on the comparison between your two amps? :D I love Engls, but have little experience with them, so I'm curious to hear how you think a P-ball stacks up against a good ol' 5150

dude, you are a gent! Ive just got back from uni, so im not going to have a proper chance to test tonight (its gone 10 already DAMNIT!!!). I cant wait to get these tested, VERY excited indeed...
Ive just heard the audio you posted, sounds fabuolous dude. I'll be back with my opinions by the weekend!

poida's completely obliterate out of those 3 samples above...

The one thing is that the tone from his comes from the low mids, where you've gotta make some serious cuts to get guitars sitting on a commercial mix... I'm still battling a bit with that, but I think I'll get a hold of it once I use it in a full mix.
