I got floor tickets for 9/11 in Tampa. I'm actually a real big fan of Dave Grohl, and he's an Anthrax fan. I think he said something like "mindfuck drumming". just courious what you all think about them.

I thought their third album, "There Is Nothing Left To Lose," was great, but their label had no idea how to promote them. I've heard good things about the new disc, but I haven't snagged it yet.

Have you checked out Grohl's other side project, Probot?

Foo Fighters rule and the Probot album was killer. The "Warlock" song with Jack Black was awesome. The Foo's aren't rip your head off metal, but Dave is actually a great songwriter and the new album rocks.

I have a lotta respect for Dave Grohl, the Foo's cd's are some of the few albums in Mrs J'thrax's collection that i can actually listen 2. Probot was awesome i loved the song with Max Cavelera.

i dont really like the band but i have alot of respect for dave,he is a great songwriter and has huge respect from alot of metal bands, max cavelera used to always rave about his drumming.

Fucking A!!!!! The Foo Fighters are one of the few modern bands that I actually like. Grohl is a phenomenal songwriter, drummer, guitarist, and the dude knows when to laugh about shit. Just check out the 'learn to fly' or 'everylong' videos. IMO, they are better than Nirvana, cause they aren't all pissed off and serious all the time. Kind of why Anthrax is one of my favorite metal bands. The new album is alot better than the last one, but not better than the Colour and the Shape or There is nothing left to lose. Worth checking out.

Loves me some Foo. I listened to The Colour and the Shape until I thought I was going to throw up. It's still my favorite FF album, but the new one is great too.

...and Probot rocked. Any word on Grohl doing another one?

Foo fan here!!!
PROBOT was a total hard rock CD that was a looonnng time due!!
I was overwhelmed when I heard that Kurt Brecht from D.R.I. was vocals on the one song!! :hotjump:

Foo Fighters is a decent band. Dave should play more drums.

I second that! I only really like Foo's first record, where Dave did everything. It had intensity (and a shade of metal in the riffing, if you ask me), and I loved Dave on Queens of the Stone Age "Songs for the Deaf". I have yet to hear the latest Killing Joke, but Johnnie said Dave kicked ass on it. The fact that the leader of Foo Fighters put out Probot with singers like Wino and Cronos is pretty fucking cool.

Grohl does kick ass on the Killing Joke CD. I´ll get it to you if you want.

I like them, The new album 'In Your Honor' is good..its worth it for the first disc..10 songs and theyre all as good as anything the Foo's have done before it. As for the second disc..i need to listen to it more but its ok just some of it is pretty mellow.

yea, I have all the Foo Albums and I agree with you on the new one. I have to listen to the second CD some more. The first one is as good as any other Foo Album. I hoping on the tour, Dave does some kind of drum solo. Most drummers don't do them any more but I figure if he doesn't get to play during the reguler songs he might want to at least get behind the kit once a night and shred. The bad part about this show is it's a co-headline tour with fucking Weazer. I can see myself arriving late...........

Dave does play some drums on the Foo's albums still i think, but they dont tell us which tracks are him playing and which are Taylors.

I've always liked the Foo Fighters since they came out. I had no idea when I heard their first single way back when that what I was listening to was the drummer of Nirvana. Had no idea dude had singing/guitar skills. This chick that I dated once house sit for his mom. There were mtv awards and shit like that everywhere at her house. Mrs. Grohl was a high school teacher for a local high school. He grew up and still lives near my very own Mom too. I've run into Grohl around town on a couple of occasions.
