I don't think it's supposed to be musically brilliant. It's fun-time metal with an old school feel. Club music. I think he's going for that, because he's definitely a high-caliber musician.

But it's not fun either. I guess maybe I was expecting a bit more from the "metal" guy who was formerly a member of Metallica.
