Aside from the 7 god-awful opening bands resulting in Daylight Dies playing a heavily truncated (4 song) set, I had a good time!
Got to hangout with Egan, Barre, Jesse, and Charlie for most of the night. Nathan was stuck in the 'merth booch,' but came in and out. All incredibly cool guys - way down to earth and they all definitely know their shit. Barre hooked me up with a set of earplugs, as I hard forgotten mine, and the promo copy of the new album is phe-fucking-nominal. I snapped a few pics of the show itself, but only a couple came out:
If anyone else was on the fence about catching this tour, definitely go check it out. Thanks again, Egan, for letting me crash your guys' dressing room festivities!

I definitely enjoyed seeing them at Jaxx for the start of the tour. The new album is totally gonna kick arse.

Candlemass were both using Dual Rectifier stacks. I wasn't able to stick around for them, as I had class 6 hours from when the show ended, and it's a good hours drive from my house. Never really been a big fan of them, in all honesty. =X

Regarding CM's gear, they are using dual recs through 1960A's. Lars is using an EBS wah and a boss digital reverb. He has an really cool lefthanded SG that has been modded w/ a floyd and duncans.

Late reply, but it was just the original Stein. Wasn't used on the album, though. Egan mentioned that the latest was the same 5150II/XXX combo as before, but with the Mesa Oversized 4x12 and an SM57 and i5.

Yeah, that Krank was bought a couple of days into the tour from manic music (backline rental, etc.). There were 3 there and we played around with them a bunch on a day off and Charley ended up buying one.
It was modded by Krank for Paradise Lost and has seperate FX loops for the clean and dirty channels which is a cool for both technical and mojo reasons.
I think it sounds awesome and look forward to sticking a mic on it.
Egan, I remember noticing with some skepticism the Ultra cab in the "Lies that Bind" vid - surely that wasn't the cab used on DD?
I'm not Egan, but it was. SM57 and e609 in a fredman-esque method.
That cab sounded damned good with the 5150II Barre was running it, though!
