hey, has anyone ever removed or repaired the grills on 421s
I had a very careless drummer in my studio the other day.
this guy some how managed to beat the sh*t out of every mic i put on his kit! This is the first time i've had someone completely crush the F*cking grills in, considering how well 421s can take a stick hit. i don't know how i kept the smoke from pouring out of my ears. if any one knows a good tip to repair the grills. you'd be the man!

I have the old style beige 421 in front of me, it looks like you take out the screw under the mic mount and the plug end slides out (be careful the only thing holding it together once the screw is removed is the wiring) then you remove the bolt inside on the back of the capsule and the whole assembly slides out.

thats a "maybe" since there's nothing wrong with mine I didn't take it all the way apart, but it is the only way I can see that you could disassemble it
