Anyone go to the New Jersey Fest?

Darkane's setlist was posted in the Darkane forum (if you want to go there click on the banner on my signature) here's the setlist:

If you want to read the experience of the guys on the fest, just go to the Darkane forum and you can read it there (you can ask questions also):)

I wasnt at the fest this year....but I have been in the past...It had always been a ridiculous experience...terrible venue and stupid fucking rules...but Im curious to hear how it was...so ..lets hear it folks! Good bands?! or what?

Woah, the fest was superb this year. There were absolutely ZERO no-shows, and only 1 major problem (though it was a doozy). 99% of the weekend went so well, I was shocked. And I went by myself for the 2 really, REALLY long days (Saturday & Sunday). Which didn't matter at all, I met and hung out with the bands and some cool people from all over the world as it would turn out to be.

If you can all be patient for about another 5-6 days, I should be able to get my very long, very detailed 3-day report up and live on the Royal Carnage site. I can post again when it's there if anyone's interested. Cheers!

Oh yeah, I forgot to add what would be in the live report, duh! :)

Coverage of the obvious, including the labels, vendors, people, the BAR!!!, Irvington (NJ), parking, etc.

Live coverage of Today Is The Day, Darkane, Withered Earth, Beyond The Embrace, Grave, Sinner (kind of), God Dethroned, Exit To Eternity (very cool unsigned band), Twilight Odyssey (another local unsigned band), Deviant (another cool unsigned band who had flown all the way from Texas), Tzefa, Havochate w/ James Murphy, Zandelle, Impaler, Nuclear Assault, Dave Brockie Experience, Goatwhore, Blaze, Carnal Forge, Nile, Overkill (including the soon-to-be-infamous plug-pulling incident), The Accursed (an unsigned band from Massachusetts whom I predict big things for), Vehemence, Thundercore, Bloodstorm, Pyrexia, Rotting Christ, Behemoth, and Amon fucking Amarth.

Also, as if that weren't enough, I got live-on-the-scene interviews with Jurgen from Darkane, Marcuss from Fatal Smile (a nice bunch of Swedes who also had flown over just for the festival), Henri Sattler from God Dethroned, Oli from All That Remains, and Nathan from Vehemence. Whew! No wonder my voice is shot! Ahhh, all in the name of metal...:headbang:

Exit To Eternity......damn that band is good. I forgot they were playing the fest. Cyanide Breed, the band I am in, played with them a few times. They are really good old school thrash. Did they get a good reaction from the Jersey crowd? I hope they did cause they are good guys and a really awesome band. Also, cant wait for the big report. Should be good. Oh yeah, when is the Nile show from The B.B. King Blues Club report going to be up? I was at that show and I just wanted to know what you thought of it. Aright-\m/ Tom www.cyanidebreed.net Dont forget, discounted tickets for the April 5th Deicide/Amon Amarth/Behemoth show are available at cyanidebreed@hotmail.com (up to $10 cheaper than at the door or through ticketmaster.)

Hmmmm. seems like a different scene is frequenting this Metal Fest, I havent heard of half the bands in which you listed...but thats okay, Im curious to hear your reviews. Especially that of Rotting Christ and Amon Amarth, I love both bands...unfortunately, Ive never seen Rotting Christ or Amon Amarth, but will see AA in a few months from now...Hmmm. Any of you Metal Fest go'ers gonna come to Wacken this year?

Sweeet! Do you have contact with the Forum? We have a camp you know :)

Do you mean this forum? I was speaking to ~ulvedal~ about it a month or so ago, and he invited me to come say hello, but I honestly can't say what in the heck is going to happen while I'm there!

I'm traveling with 5 others, we're staying in Itzehoe (ahh, beds & hot water), and we're covering the event for our zine, but I'd sure LOVE to meet as many people as possible from all over the world. I'm learning how to say "Cheers!" in as many languages as possible! :headbang:
