Anyone good at mixing live stuff? (raw tracks inside!)

Hey there, I got a load of raw tracks off a band from a live gig they did, recorded on "the best recording gear any venue has" seemingly.... (you can comment on this if you like!) I tried and I tried and I tried and I gave up after re-recording almost every part...I just can't make it sound as intense as the room mics (which isn't very intense) Does anyone want to have a bash? These are two "songs" in their raw 16 tracks....feel free to have a stab at mixing and posting here cos I'd love to hear if it can be done...my efforts aren't very good at all. You can use whats there or trigger/sample/re-record/re-amp do whatever...just keep the orginal vocals (which aren't particularly good) If anyone particularly likes it, I can hook you up with a DVD with about 30 minutes worth of raw tracks (that might be too much of the same thing for anyone to take) its not very metal....

Was going to try, but a lot of these files are unusable. Bass is very distorted and both guitars sound like fizz-- I'm talking straight static. Maybe I'll post a finished mix anyway just for laughs. Tell them next time to make sure they points the mics at the guitar cabs.:heh:
 
Uurrgghh... This is the idea I'm after....I'm just no good at mixing stuff I haven't recorded (or anything for that matter..) Just started this after posting...

Waiting for someone to make this sound shit hot though :)
 
It's not going to happen with those guitar tones bro. The best mixer in the world couldn't save it. Whoever placed those mics should be shot and killed. Sounds asbsolutely horrific.:OMG:
 
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH those solo vocal clips! Im near enough pissing myself :erk:

Even Andy would not be able to rectify those vocals as "ledageable".
