I just tried it with Mesa 2x12 (V30 & Black Shadow) cabinet last weekend. Works pretty good. In this case was better than SM57. Reamped using JeffTD's DI and backing track. Quad tracked with 6505 and Mesa Dual Rectifier.

In the album I´m working right now I made a shootout with 6505 + & Krankestein & Dual rectifier all of them with maxon od808 and a mesa straight v30, I made the shootout on rhythms, leads and cleans...peavey and krank fucked over the dual, while costing almost twice...may be the amp has a tone I could not find...
I finally end up using 6505 & Krank for rhythms, krank for clean and 6505 for leads, you can hear something HERE
