Anyone have unboosted clips of an HT-5, Snott Watt, Tweaker, Gigmaster, etc?

Ya to get that metal out of it had to fully Krank the gain. Its why I sold mine. Good tone but a pain in the ass to dial in just right.

AFAIK there's quite a few opamps in the preamp section of the HT-5. I suppose you are going all tube, which the HT-5 is obviously not. (Had me fooled for a while, but now do not want)

There's a video of the HT-5R mic'd. It's basically same as the HT-5 but with a reverb option.

And I never have to dial my HT-5's gain all they way up, plenty of gain at 1 or 2 o'clockish.

IMHO the use and combination of rectifiers (be it inside a tube or not) is what makes the "metal sound". Or do you really think they actually make tubescreamers with tubes?
