Anyone heard anything by the following bands?

I heard Salem, an Israeli band.

The first album, Creating Our Sins contains 3 original songs and 13 (I think) live bonus tracks from a live demo. 3/10
The second album, Kaddish is doom/black, some parts remind me of Bethlehem, it's nice. 6-7/10
A Moment of Silence, death/doom with some prog elements and a cover of Pink Floyd's Set The Controls To The Heart Of The Sun. Not bad. 8/10
Collective Demise, last album (unless you consider the cello ensemble album they released this year), pretty ok, mostly death metal with black elements and an anti-terror vibe going. 5/10.

Lux Occulta is one band to check to see how they managed to pull themselves away from generic black metal into a neatly organized fireworks of micro-styles. "The Mother and the Enemy" can be a little too much to take in one shot, but it's definitely a stunning and unique occurence.

Lux occulta's "Forever alone immortal" is a good album if you like symphonic epic black, great atmosphere quite majestic. (the good kind, not the dummy burger kind) The album after that is a continuation of that sound. Thats all i know..

Catamenia is pop black metal. Seriously, the tunes are catchy as fuck. It's guilty pleasure all the way.

The word Catamenia means menstrual drippings I think.

I'll also put in my recommendation for Lux Occulta. The early stuff is great (non-gay) melodic black metal. Forever Alone. Immortal. is one of my favorite BM albums and I cannot recommend it enough.
