Anyone heard Ghost Machinery? www.ghostmachinery.com

It's really a little too power metal for my tastes (it reminds me of early Sonata Arctica during the speedy parts), but the songwriting is superb for a debut album. And there are some killer old school 80's sounding songs the album as well. I just stumbled on some song samples of this band over the weekend. Found them on the melodicrock.com "mini-bytes" page and then went to their website where other samples are available if you sign up for SoundClick.com. Tonight I found two full songs (the power metal ones dagnabbit!) on download.com as well.

I'm actually thinking of adding this album to my buy list, but so far I can't find anyone in America who is selling it.

When I first heard about this band I was excited to hear it but after getting the album I don´t think it´s all that great. It´s not bad but it´s a bit too generic. It does sound similiar to early SONATA ARCTICA and I never liked them much which is another reason it doesn´t ignite me. However, there are some good songs, like you mention, that sound very 80s inspired and they are the plus side of the album.

Yeah, the album will probably peak only at four stars, but the songwriting shows a lot of potential. I'll never be a huge fan because of all the power metal, but they could land on my select purchases from the genre.

From the samples, I think I'll really like Temples of Gold and Dreamworld (this song reminded me a little of Demon).
