I recently downloaded their CD (couldn't find it anywhere to order). The new guitarist from Gorerotted is in the band. They play awesome tech death. I don't see why they aren't more popular.

Lol I don't think they sound like the Disgorge from California. The sound like a more technical, more brutal version of Dying Fetus. They are actually from Scotland where you live. Have you ever heard of them?

I have heard them... they are without a doubt a talented group... but I would not call them more brutal than Dying Fetus.. more technical yes, but brutality is still held by Fetus in my mind

Yeah i've heard of Regorge and I know they're from Scotland; i've seen adverts for some gigs they were doing in Glasgow but I never really had the chance to go see them. I haven't heard their music though i'll check it out sometime soon.

Great band, I was really pissed off to find out they'd split. Maybe their tendency to get stuck in a technical, internal musical dialogue rather than really trying to communicate anything to the listener was a bit annoying, but I really enjoyed the technicality of the songs, so that made up for it. Bands like Dying Fetus include the listener into the equation as well, so they're better...

Yeah there's nothing wrong with that at all, but for me it just does not STAND OUT.. you know, slap me in the face... Hate Eternal... love that band, and they are as generic as they come..
Yeah, although Hate Eternal does tons of Immolation-like dissonant riffing on their latest, King Of All Kings, but I guess that such dissonant riffing is not longer out of the ordinary.

Your right actually, especially in a lot of the newer local Death bands coming around the San Francisco area... it is like a fever, none of these bands last more than a few weeks, possibly months... but thats the way it's always worked though I guess

Does anyone know of Psychofagist or Nefas? They're both ridiculously technical and whacked-out bands but in a cool way. I wonder if Regorge is anything like them...
Regorge isn't that whacked out, they are just very technical and fast at times. They are still quite catchy, and don't really use awkward rhtyms or dissonant chords.
