I listen to 2 of the 4 haha. I'll have to check out Russian Circles and Red Sparrows

Russian Circles is very good, let me know what you think. Also, Red Sparowes has members from Isis, so you might take a liking.

great bands of the genre: Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Saxon Shore, mum, the Album Leaf, Do Make Say Think

All class acts.

DMST's "Goodbye Enemy Airship The Landlord is Dead" is such an awesome cd. I love it.

and yeah...I'll get to checkin out those other two bands

explosions in the sky , surprised no one mentioned them, they are really good.
godspeed you! black emperor is my favorite post rock of course:cool:
i like mono, a silver mt.zion as well and some others.

I listen to Neurosis for years, last year discovered Isis, they are such a great band, become one of my favourites, and Mogwai is also very good....I`ll definitely check the other bands that you´ve mentioned here.

Probably because it doesn't conform to the conventional musical stylings of modern rock and isn't pretentious like so many other musical forms.

Agreed. Genres that all metalheads should listen to are:

Post-rock
Classical
:kickass:

I just discovered some band today called 65 Days Of Static. This music is very intriguing, up-beat and fast post-rock. I strongly recommend them to everyone.
