Anyone using the focusrite liquidmix?

The Liquid Mix is amazing, I have personally compared mine to a couple of the EXACT units used in the emulation process (a friend works the rental company the gear was hired from). The emulations are close enough to the real thing for me to not care.

Since there are different emulations you can have the sound as coloured or natural as you want. For EQ and compression it's between Duende and LiquidMix, the LM won for me as it's half the price.

Basically what I need is a good general EQ and compressor for pretty much everything (I know that sounds vary and so do the intended use) and I need it to work with my laptop (so no PCI or PCIe cards).

Now here is the thing that I heard, I heard that the liquid mix and Duende need their own dedicated port correct? No daisy chaining?

If thats the case then I guess I am going new mac but I kind of wanted to keep portable so...

Or even better is it possible to chain macs through a network (I know how to do that) so one is providing DSP power and the other is just the mix machine?

Why not get MH Channel Strip? That's what I'm planning on doing for that same purpose (general EQ and comp)

Hey guys I have a liquid mix too, just recently started using it more and I've noticed that you can hear the eq emulations changing impulses quite easily as you turn the dials. almost a bit annoying if you compare to a regular software plugin. I'm not sure it always did this,

What do you guys think? Does this happen on yours?

I do really like the unit regardless and definitely a good buy.
