Reflections stunned me at the first 5 or so listens. After that, I recognized 2 very distinct groups of songs. The ones with real drums (by Dave Lombardo) and the ones with fake drums. And that last group just makes me vomit now, it sounds like MIDI files!!!!!!!!!! I don't listen to the album for months, it's terrible!!! The real drums tracks are indeed cool, but their shine don't last much...
Besides, being a huge fan of classic music, I consider this band an offense to the magical sound of the cello. In Reflections, the cello is repetitive, shallow, not virtuous at all, even uncomfortable to the ears. A BIG shame to such a powerful instrument.
Huge advice to those interested in CELLO: go listen to the Bach's suites for cello, the Beethoven and Rachmaninoff cello sonatas and Dvorak's cello concerto, just to start.
Enough said. Who wants to buy a used Reflections?
