same.. I totally get the "show is about to start, did I forget anything" feeling

Interesting, but totally inaccurate about it being quieter than an orchestra. An LAeq of 99 is much louder than any orchestra is going to manage, unless every member of the orchestra plays continuously as loud as they can for the entire show. (and that's measured from the front row....not a distant sound desk)
