So new Architect is coming up produced and recorded at Studio Fredman by my friend Henrik Udd. First single is released:

I think sounds crazy good but let's discuss. I'll see if i can get Henke to show up and answer some questions about the production!

You can't really get bad sounds from that dude. My phone just lets me hear the low quality version so it's just mushy but I'll have to check this out at home.

Can't wait for this album, Sam Carter is pretty much the best metal vocalist out there.

Always wanted to hear them with a studio fredman production. finally happened haha

sounds great! so much better than the last album.
not sure which mix i prefer over this album and "The here and now" though. both are awesome mixes

Had to pop in just to give massive props to Henrik. This is next level stuff - especially the low-end. It's up there with Bergstrand's 'golden era' mixing for me. Really keen for it to come out so we can hear the mix lossless.

I'm mostly interested in how restrained the use of saturation on this mix was, and how you kept the low-end in that pocket so well?

Also... still using the 5150 III? Still with the greenback cabs?

From the teaser I thought they might throw in some Deafheaven influence, but it looks like they've made the same album again - with worse breakdowns

Absolutely loving this but I am really curious to hear what the rest of the album sounds like in C#; god knows they only tuned to G for the single like they always do.

Thanks for the great response! Really glad most of you seem to like it.
And Jeff, there´s no songs in C# on the album ;)

I want to like this but I'm not a huge fan of the clicky kick or the snare either. They sound good in some parts and don't at other parts, to my ears. I like the low end and how big it sounds in conjunction with the guitars, but I don't know if what I'm hearing is next level shit. Then again I don't have Ermz's ears and I've been on a total Putney/Rachel/Magnusson binge for a while though... And like I said in the other thread where this new song was posted- I think these lyrics could have been written better without the excessive use of "fuck" for filler words in a crappy attempt at being edgy. The 'BLAT's in every single is getting a little old too. I'm going to be bummed if the rest of the album is like this because I really like Architects and hope this album grows on me.

I think the vocal production is amazing but to be sincere I had not paid much attention to Architects before news of this record so it could be his vocal style or just amazing work from Henrik (both I'm guessing). I do have to agree with the lyrics on this second track, they could definitely be more eloquent

Once again, that low end :worship:

It is most definitely not "Blat" but "bleh" and Stray are the kings of that. (1:28)

Loving the new stuff though, really a return to form for the guys. Stoked to hear nothing is in C#!
