Architects - Lost Forever / Lost together

The low end is indeed recidulous, the kick is a bit clicky, guitar/vocal production is excellent.

Though,

I hope they grow tired of doing songs with the same "OPEN UR EYES" message all the fucking time. Pandering to this teen generation of people that have "seen da truff" lizard lizard.

If I type in "open your eyes" and then a series of certain modern bands I bet they all have this lyric, or its partner "WAKE UP".

uggh.

+1

I don't listen to lyrics much at all but I find myself noticing the lyrical content with these guys to be a bit juvenile. Especially with all the voice-overs about "saving the planet" and general railing against the establishment/religion/oppression. I'm okay with "artists" being critical in this way, but they're a bit too blatant with it. I think at this point in human history, there are very few people listening to their music that haven't heard this message (and probably agree with it to some extent). It just comes off as sounding a bit regurgitated and immature to me and detracts from the otherwise amazing music.

Regardless, the production and mix is great on this record. I would love to know the recording details from top to bottom if they exist somewhere!

Listen to daybreaker then, it still exists

I do regularly! I was just hoping for more of that mix of insane energy with expressive guitar and vocal melodies. I'm not saying that new stuff is bad - it's quite good, especially production-wise, but to me as a singer it's sad to hear that Sam decided to focus more on screaming vocals.

I agree, I think Architects should get their lyrical inspiration from things that matter, like the Top 40 artists are doing.

'Get dem haters out your circle
Smile in your face but all they wanna do is bring ya down
See them try to mess to hurt you
And work you
Anything to bring ya down'

Yo Yo.

That was a really obscure reference to a Rihanna song that was never a single. Props.

Love love love this album, it grew on me really quickly, and I was never into them before this one. The lyrics are brilliant IMO, I can really connect to them, Naysayer is pure truth to me, and the blehs and fucks fit perfectly cause it gives it a more personal, emotional feel. There are few lines I can connect to as much as "so sick of the sound of people giving up, you can't stop me giving a fuck. Fuck it I'm a dreamer and I'm dreaming on".

I know all the fucks can make it sound juvenile, but to me it just makes it more honest, it's pure emotion.
