Nah, nothing about death metal makes me as physically uncomfortable as mathcore (except maybe for super-spastic tech death, but at least the vocals aren't as bad IMO), though I will admit that most of the straight-up stuff (meaning, not Nile, Kronos, Behemoth etc.) doesn't hold my attention for very long if it doesn't have sweet slower groovy sections (see: Decapitated ) and/or some kind of super-evil ominous melody

Each to their own I suppose, I started music with hardcore (the punk one) so for me heaviness was always about speed over just palm muting a note every time a kick drum hits, lol.
