You should post this in "Old School" and delete from here. Over there you will surely get many YES's, I know many, they were a very important band late 70's through most of the 80's.

he's right, in Old School it would be better but would be interesting to see what Non-Old School peeps say.. but anyways i love the band and think they are very underrated...

Yes,you're right, maybe it would fit better at old-school section, but I don't know how can I move it there..maybe the moderator of the forum can help me?

there stuff up until the mid 80's is great. after that they are hit and miss although unbreakable and humanity hour 1 were pretty good

While we await for Kitty to come and say the ultimate word ;), I have to say that I'm a huge fan of the band between "Fly To The Rainbow" and "Animal Magnetism".

I know they have released several good songs after that but feel confortable with that range.

An essential band IMO for those looking for good rock/metal of the 70's and early 80's.

i love the Uli stuff best, but the mattias Jabs post Lovedrive is good stuff too.

p.s. i have not seen Amazonia DVD yet-but Wacken 2006(where they celebrate their entire career)is a must see INCREDIBLE DVD!!!!:headbang::headbang:

I really like the Scorpions from "Fly To The Rainbow" to "Lovedrive". Uli was the man for Scorpions! Ha ha, Anyway 70s Scorps rule. After that they made a few interesting records but none as exciting as during the 70s. IMHO of course. ;-)

Earth calling Kitty, earth calling Kitty, Kitty come in...

Oh yeah. They are one of my favorite bands ever - probably top 10 - and easily one of the best live bands I've ever seen, maybe even the best. I've seen them 6 times. The first time was August 1984 and most recently March 2003.

I first got into them somewhere between Blackout and Love at First Sting, and originally was only a fan of Lovedrive forward. However, about 1994 I started to go back and get all the 70's stuff and that was what rocketed them into my favorite bands ever. I now like both "eras", as well as Jabs vs. Roth, equally.

You're almost like me on this one Henri, I just beat you for one album .

Picture Life FTW. :)

One hell of a song!:headbang:

Into the rock through walls of red dreams
Into the rock to find the cream
Into the rock through walls of red dreams
Pictured life from yesterday.

P.S. Kitty, Kitty, Kitty

I love all eras of this under-rated band (although they suffered a few missteps in the early-mid 90s). Yes, I proclaim them to be under-rated, particulalry the Roth/70s era, which is fantastic, and on-par with other 70s giants Rainbow, Rush, UFO, etc.

Lovedrive remains my fav followed by either Taken by Force or Blackout.
Their most recent release, Humanity 1, is also a modern classic (9/10).

The Scorps are the band that introduced me to metal. They will always have a special place for me, from Lovedrive up through Crazy World. Nothing after that really holds my interest, but those earlier albums are very special to me. I thought Matthias Jabs was GOD for quite a few years in the 80's.

I was at Namm show when this was posted hanging out with Uli Jon Roth!!! SCORPS ROCK MY SOUL!!!

I myself have not, yes I said NOT bought the Amazonia dvd because they did not record the entire show only 13 out of 27 tracks they played that night...that and it's a bit pricey for what they are giving you. YES, I will eventually buy it but it's not a top priority for me.

Rudolf Schenker's Rock Your Life book will be available in English soon, so keep an eye out for that. I all ready have the German copy :heh:

I just spent a couple days with Uli and the Namm show and he unveiled the new Sky guitar made by Dean...check it out it's gorgeous.

Scorps new album is in the mix now, US release will be delayed (once again) and EU release expected for April/May. IMO the title sucks major....sting in the tail...what the hell??? I think if they'd poll the fans we could've come up with something better than that. I am not expecting much.. I've heard a few clips and Rudolf ALWAYS says "our next album will be rockin like Blackout..." so I expect the worse and hope for the best.

Off to get ready for work will be back to discuss more... love to you all... ROCK N ROLL KISSES AND HURRICANE WISHES!!
