Are there SCORPIONS fan over there?

Well there you have it sailsofthecharon. The latest news right from the source from the biggest Scorpions fan in the world. :)

Notice however that she is not some drooling fan but maintains her objectivity by telling exactly what she likes and dislikes about her favorite band.

Well done Kitty.

if the scorpions are announced as the healiners for the m3 rockfest i can die a happy man knowing i've seen the scorpions live

I really want to see the Scorps. Depending on the line up, I may go (it has to be REALLY good). PPUSA doesn't interest me much this year and London's Rock the Park has really crapped out.

what do you think of the lineup? i posted it in the thread about the festival and yes the scorpions are the headliners

The following bands interest me:
kix
vince neil
warrant
the scorpions (headliner)
Tentative:
tesla
sebastian bach
jackyl
winger
dirty looks

If they add Saigon Kick or Hair of the Dog or something, I'm there. They'd have to reunite a classic band to really sell me on it.

too bad none of the maybe's except winger are coming

On the retirement: Crazy! But fine. Believe it or not I'd like to see more bands that I admire put a period at the end of their sentence. They were (are) an active, recording band...and can go out with pride.

I saw them last year (or maybe the year before...) and they were great. It was the Humanity 1 tour. I'll see them again knowing they are giving it up now. Blackout was an early metal purchase by me....I still think of 1982 as watershed year for 80s metal....Screaming For Vengeance, Blackout, and Number of the Beast...all in one damn year. And Scorps were not just some 3rd rate band....Blackout equals the and surpasses everything else from that year. I went and got all the old stuff after I first heard it....

Also....World Wide Live is still one of my favorite metal tour videos. I haven't seen it in a long time, but for sheer excitement you can't beat it. The scorpions have quite obviously always loved being in a band, loved playing live. They are INSANE in that video. Just balls of fury...each and every member. One hell of a live show.

Important Message to our Fans

It was always our pleasure, our purpose in life, our passion and we were fortunate enough to make music for you - whether it was live on stage or in the studio, creating new songs.

While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was – and how much fun we were still having, in the process. But there was also something else: We want to end the Scorpion’s extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely grateful for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we’ve always had since the beginning. This is why, especially now, we agree we have reached the end of the road. We finish our career with an album we consider to be one of the best we have ever recorded and with a tour that will start in our home country Germany and take us to five different continents over the next few years.

We want you, our fans, to be the first to know about this. Thank you for your never-ending support throughout the years!

We uploaded the very first snippets from our new album for you.

And now… let’s get the party started and get ready for a “Sting in the Tail”!

See you on the world tour,

Yours
Scorpions

I hope the tour is extensive because the last go around didn't they play like 5-6 shows in the U.S.? That was offensive. The lats thing I want to see is a farewell tour that consists of Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Dallas... That would be a big fuck you to the rest (of the American) fans.

well there is a date in maryland

I fear this may be the case, they have not included the East coast in there last several tours. I have been told they will only be playing festivals and in the US that isn't a lot to choose from. I am hoping after M3 they will put on a nice lineup of a couple other classic acts and do a full US tour. If I hear anything else from my source I will be sure to update you all.
