i think it is a justifiable way of forcing everyone to conform to the "no sigs" way or else suffer the relentless pummelling of the animatronic gif sig.
I took the intelligent route which was learning of the ability to turn off sigs and then doing so, and having no altruistic intentions, I can now vote for the status quo.
I think you made your point well enough...I had proposed a one-image limit in a previous thread on this subject, if I were to salvage one it would be the cat in vertigo.
i turned sigs back on just to watch the hula cat do the cabbage patch! and that squirrel i'm starting to wonder about- that's a rather maniacal look in his eye.
